Men

Plastic surgery is as popular with men today as it is with women. Many of the same procedures performed on women can also be done on men - liposuction, tummy tuck, eyelid surgery, removal of excess breast tissue, and CoolSculpting® among others. Because men and women differ physically, we often need to approach the various procedures differently.

Why do men consider plastic surgery?

Men who would like to turn back the effects of age often consider cosmetic surgery. The most common areas of interest for men wanting cosmetic surgery include a younger looking face, a trimmer waistline, or less prominent breasts.

Liposuction/Body Contouring

As men age, fat accumulates around the abdomen and flanks (“love handles” or “spare tire”) and in the breast area. Since male skin tends to be thicker and more elastic, liposuction can produce a very effective change in the contour of these regions. If loose and hanging skin with poor elasticity is present, an abdominoplasty may be needed.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia, an overgrowth of breast tissue in men, is quite common and can affect one or both breasts. The procedure to treat gynecomastia removes fat and/or breast tissue using a combination of liposuction and excision of the firm tissue. Sagging breasts more often require the removal of skin as well, resulting in a chest that is flatter, firmer, and better contoured. In some cases, CoolSculpting® can provide equivalent results without surgery, scars, or anesthesia.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting® is the first FDA-cleared technology to selectively remove fat without surgery, scars, and little to no downtime. Patented cooling technology is used to safely, comfortably, and effectively target unwanted fatty deposits. Treatments are performed in our state-of-the-art office and you can resume normal activity immediately after treatment.

Face

Most men want a relaxed and rejuvenated appearance without the “operated” look or visible scars. Receding hairlines and facial hair can affect options and results. The most common facial surgery in males is blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and liposuction under the chin. Other facial surgery performed in males includes full face and neck lift, brow lift, or skin resurfacing.
